  • Post-Master’s Archival Studies Specialist Program

    Overview

    The Post-Master’s Specialist Program in Archival Studies is designed for students who want to gain the skills necessary to work with archival records and papers in all formats. Graduates can work in archival settings, including government agencies, libraries, historical societies, corporations, not-for-profit organizations, museums, and religious institutions. Courses focus on developing collections, arranging and describing materials, and making them available. The courses may also be of interest to students planning careers in special, public, and digital librarianship.

    Applicants to the Post-Master’s Specialist Program must have a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program, and have completed all prerequisites for individual courses within their area of specialization.

    Program Features

    • Courses are taught by faculty from the College’s MSLIS program, ranked #10 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and fully accredited by the American Library Association (ALA)
    • A flexible, completely online program that fits easily into your busy work and personal schedule
    • A highly interactive e-learning method allows extensive interaction with faculty and other classmates
    • Students who complete the program will receive a credential entitled Archives Specialist

    Curriculum

    This program is organized into four 10-week quarters per year (as opposed to the traditional two semester system) which means you can take more courses in a shorter time period. One semester credit is equivalent to 1.5 quarter credits.

    Admissions Criteria

    Tuition

    The tuition rate for the academic year 2017-2018 is $1228 per credit.


    • This rate applies only to new online students.
      • Students being readmitted to Drexel University must contact applyDUonline@drexel.edu within the first two weeks of the term to request tuition savings for which they qualify.
