  • Master of Health Administration (MHA)

    The online Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree is designed for experienced health care professionals seeking to explore the three areas of health leadership – transformation, execution, and people. Students of this program will benefit from a curriculum shaped by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership Competency Model, which is considered the leading model in graduate curricula in health administration.

    Led by experienced faculty members, Drexel’s online Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree addresses epidemiology and biostatistics, health care ethics and law, managed care, the Affordable Care Act, organizational management, and health policy. Students will apply a community focus, financial skills, analytical thinking, and strategic orientation in their courses and assignments.

    Coursework addresses the following competencies:

    • Relationship building and collaborative problem solving

    Application Deadlines

    Spring 2019 - Applications completed before January 5, 2019 will be guaranteed consideration for admission. Applications completed after that date will be considered as space allows, until March 4, 2019.

    Fall 2019 - Applications completed before June 21, 2019 will be guaranteed consideration for admission. Afterward, your application will be considered as space allows, until August 26, 2019 when no more applications will be considered until the following spring.

    This program is organized into four 10-week quarters per year (as opposed to the traditional two semester system) which means you can take more courses in a shorter time period. One semester credit is equivalent to 1.5 quarter credits.

    Admissions Criteria

    • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
    • GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred
      • Those with a GPA lower than 3.0 are encouraged to apply, but should in their personal statement highlight relevant work experience, professional certifications, and/or continuing education that demonstrate academic excellence
    • At least three years of previous health care management experience showing a pattern of increased responsibility

    • A completed application
    • Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended
    • Two letters of recommendation from relevant professional references, with at least one from a supervisor. 
    • Essay of approximately 500-750 words describing your relevant professional and life experiences, outlining your career goals, and explaining your motivation for pursuing a career in health care management and obtaining a Master of Health Administration degree

    The tuition rate for the academic year 2018-2019 is $855 per credit.

    • This program is eligible for Financial Aid.

      • Tuition rates are subject to increase with the start of each academic year in the fall term.
