Instructional Design and Multimedia Services is Drexel University’s leader in instructional design and multimedia development. The group offers tiered Instructional Design Services to faculty. There is no cost associated with this service, and the priorities are: a) New Course Development, b) Accreditation Standards, and c) Refreshing courses already developed.
Three Levels of Service
- Silver – Instructional design support assisting with basic course design and development, including the following: conducting a course needs analysis, creation of learning objectives, developing online learning activities, creating voice-over presentations, designing assessments, researching technology integration (example: VoiceThread), and making the course content accessible. This level of service may take 1-2 months to complete after the team receives all course content.
- Gold – Increased student engagement and interactivity (i.e., assignments and activities), focusing on accessible syllabus and PowerPoint presentation, including storyboarding, lecture capture, on-sight video interviews, and short video demonstrations. This level of service may take 2-4 months to complete after the team has received the course content, depending on the workload of the team and the complexity of the interactivity and videos.
- Platinum – Specialized support from designer and multimedia experts to integrate more advanced video, simulation, animation, and game-based learning components. Courses are custom designed and fully accessible (ADA compliant). Documentaries, video case studies, and virtual field trips may also be included. This level of service may take 6 months or more to complete after the team has received the course content, depending on the workload of the team and the complexity of the interactivity and videos.
